I've pasteurised my substrate before receiving my spawn!

We recommend only pasteurising your substrate once you have redeemed your voucher and received your spawn, just in case there are any courier delays and it does not arrive at the expected time. This reduces the risk of contaminants/bacteria from growing if the straw is left damp/wet and unused for prolonged periods. 

If you've pasteurised your substrate (straw) before you have ordered/received your mushroom spawn, then drain as much water from the bag as possible and re-pasteurise for a second time (once your spawn has been delivered and is stored in the correct conditions whilst you prepare the substrate) 

Note: Do not add your mushroom spawn until you have successfully pasteurised, cooled and drained your substrate
