Trichoderma harzianum is one of the most common forms of contamination seen in mushroom cultivation. This mould produces white Mycelium that grows rapidly before producing noticeably green spores, it can be difficult to detect in it's early stages of development as it's appearance is often confused with mushroom mycelium.
Several measures can be implemented to prevent Trichoderma contamination before it appears, including - Increased air circulation and ventilation
- Maintaining a clean, sanitised growing environment
- Regularly monitoring your grow(s) for signs of contamination.
Unfortunately the best method for control once Trichoderma is detected is to ditch your operation, deep clean, and start anew.
